Fighting The High Price Of Drugs Everyone has a right to their own opinion and many people believe there is no problem with the quickly escalating drugs prices we pay. If you are convinced you should pay drug prices that are rising much faster than overall inflation is ok. Otherwise read on... We are not the only ones working at bringing drug prices in line with actual costs with legitimate profits. Eight out of the last ten years the profits of the top ten drug companies have been higher than the rest of the Fortune 500 companies combined. One method being used to reduce prices is to bring class action suits against drug companies. The unfortunate result has been that the monies paid by the drug companies as a result of these suits rarely approach the profits made while engaged in illegal activities. The suits are being considered in the industry as a "cost of doing business" and in some cases actually added to the price of the drugs being sold before any legal action has occurred. We have other ways to combat the spiraling costs of drugs. Let us not depend upon lawyers to do what is rightly our jobs. As a people, we have immense power over corporations and governments that can be wielded in various ways. It is time we do so. Our first method is to reduce the extreme profits of the pharmaceutical industry by showing people how to pay less for their drugs. Lower profits mean there is less money available to buy influence with politicians. It also benefits all of us directly. A second method is to become directly let companies and politicians know that these prices are not acceptable. If the Slash Drug Costs Incorporated has saved you money and you believe it has the potential of saving you more money in the future; please use the adage "time is money -- money is time" and spend just a little of your time to let your politicians know that enough is enough. Remember, we do not accept donations or sponsorship. It is simply a few minutes of your time that is needed.
